Short Story Sunday-The Channing Hall Boys:Part 3

Dove

Putting back on my clothes,I looked back at Tasha’s naked body laying in bed sound asleep. I couldn’t help but smile to myself. I was known amongst my two best friends as the ladies man. All the girls from around the way wanted to get with me and I couldn’t blame them. Standing 6 feet tall, dark complexion, muscles and dread, ask any girl and I bet she would tell you that I was the man. I could wake Tashe up and let her know that I was leaving but nope I was good on all that.

I left her house and walked to my house where I lived with my aunt. Today had been a great day. I had celebrated the last days of being in the hood with my family before it was time for me to head off to college with my two best friends. I’m not going to lie, I thought that I wasn’t going to graduate from high school. But Sammie and Justin helped me to get my grades together to make sure that I was going to college with them.

I lived in the projects with my Aunt Jewel who I loved dearly. She had took me in when both of my parents decided that drugs and alcohol was way more important them being a parent to me. When I walked in the house I noticed that Aunt Jewel was on the couch as th nightly news watched her sleep under her blanket. I walked to my room and pulled my phone out of my pocket and laid across the bed. I had ten missed calls and five text message from Tasha. I looked at them and shook my head and pulled up my Facebook app instead of reading one text from her.

I mean Tasha was cool and all but I don’t know why she was blowing my phone up. I wasn’t looking for a relationship and what had took place at her house a couple of hours ago was just that, nothing more.

On Facebook, I noticed that I had a message from this other cutie, Maria, that I definitely wanted to get up with before I left for school. She was in my inbox telling me how proud she was of me and that she wanted me to come over so she can show me exactly how proud she was. Without a thought, I messaged her back and told her I was on my way. I mean, she was fine and I really want to see how proud she was of me. I laughed to myself as I got my things together and walked to her house.

When I arrived she was there standing, waiting, in barely nothing. I reached in my pocket to pull out a condom. She took it out my hand and said, “Ohh baby, you don’t need that. I’m on the pill.”

I dropped the condom on the floor and proceeded to let Maria congratulate me on all my accomplishments.
