Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!
Last Tuesday, my husband and I decided last minute to take a family vacation to go and visit my family in Phoenix, Arizona. This trip was so last minute that when I woke up Tuesday morning, I had no idea that I would be boarding a plane with my husband and our 1 year old son that evening. I don’t even know how I managed to pack everything without missing a beat.
I will say that my nerves were all over the place because I had no idea how my son would react to being on the plane for the first time. To my surprise, he did great! We didn’t have a long wait at the airport and we went through security pretty fast. When the plane took off, my little guy looked out the window and said, “wheeee” with a huge smile on his face and that made me relax a whole lot.
Our stay in hot and sunny Arizona was filled with laughs and the making of lasting memories with my family. I was so happy to spend time with my grandmother. I haven’t seen her since 2012 and this was her first time meeting both my husband and son. My sister and her family and my mom and youngest sister was able to come to Arizona as well.
When I returned home, I was happy that I was able to take that last minute trip with my family because it was so worth it. I’m usually the kind of person that likes to plan everything out, but sometimes it’s okay to just let go and enjoy life. This last minute trip has taught me to not be so uptight and just go with the flow and allow myself to have fun without stressing over every little detail and micromanaging everything. I love spending time with family and enjoying their company and making memories with them. I can’t wait until our next family trip!
Comment below and tell me what you like most about vacationing with family.
Until next time… stay positive!

Sounds like y’all had a blast! I must admit I’m same way when it comes to obsessing over details and micromanaging. I too realized that I’m more relaxed and enjoy myself more when I let go of all the worry and stress. What I enjoy about vacationing with my family is spending time together without the everyday distractions we face at home. We get to have fun while seeing and doing things we don’t normally get to experience and make lasting memories.
