What I Learned While On A Social Media Detox

Hey lovelies! Welcome back to my blog!

I know that it’s been quite some time since you have read a blog post from me or seen me post anything on my social sites. Well…I’m back!!

A few weeks ago I decided to go on a detox from writing and posting on social media, including my blog. I just wanted to unplug from all of the things that I spent a lot of my time on and focus on more important things in my life.

During my “social media detox,” I learned to live in the moment and not focus on pulling out my phone to capture the perfect picture to post on social media. I took time to actually enjoy life and the people around me. My family and I did some pretty cool thing while I was detoxing and I just enjoyed those moments and it felt so good. I read some pretty good books while I was away too.

This detox has also taught me that not everything belongs on social media. It’s okay to have somethings to yourself. It’s okay to capture moments with your camera and not post on social media.

I would not be honest with myself or you all, if I didn’t mention that I missed my social media accounts a lot. I missed scrolling in Instagram and seeing all of the beautiful posts from my friends. I’m happy to be back, but I am now doing social media in moderation. I will still use it to promote my blog and other things that I enjoy. I just needed this break to put some things in prospective and to focus on some things that I needed to focus on. I believe that everyone need to unplug from social media from time to time, and just enjoy the moments around them. Even if it’s just for a day, it can still be very beneficial.

I’m so happy to be back and I appreciate you all for allowing me to take this much needed break. I’m so excited to continue my journey with you all! I have so much to share with you all, so stay tuned!

  3. Yay! I am all in favor of scheduling days to “UNPLUG” – for all the reasons you stated. When I’ve done it, not only has it brought me peace, but allows me a cleansing reset of my perspectives and priorities.

  8. Detoxing is always a must. I just wrote a blog similarly; however after my detox I decided to hang up social media excluding my blog. Great read💞

      1. I have yet to delete my Instagram because it’s a great platform to reach readers; however I’m thinking long and harf about. The whole social media jist doesnt fit the me I’ve grown into, if that makes sense

      2. That makes perfect sense. I use my Instagram to reach readers and companies I promote.
